Android

The Android version of John's Yoga application is very similar in about to that of the iOS and OSX applications.  It has the usual primary series details for learning the vinyasa count and practicing along to John's Vinyasa Count.  Available for versions KitKat  - Nougat (SDK 25)

The main differences are :

  • Image playback displays current and total runtime for each asana
  • Includes the primary series charts
  • Includes the 'Windows on a Practice' workshop transcription
  • Includes '5 Steps focussed 12' guided meditation
  • Links to John's Facebook page
  • Includes a 'Resources' Tab*

*The app on installation has to download resources from our websites to complete the installation.  Rather than include these directly with the application payload (Google limits the App size to 50MB) the App requests these when it first starts (this can be cancelled).  This was by far the easiest and quickest way for these resources to be included with the App.

iOS

The main stay of the Application Flavours.  Now at version 01.01.01 this version includes the Sanskrit chant text at the bottom of the screen.  See the rest of this site for fuller details on this application

OSX

Available for OSX Versions Yosemite (10.10) - Sierra (10.12.4)

 JSDesktop03.png

The OSX Version of the App includes all the main features of the iOS App and additionally:

  • Primary Series Charts
  • 'Windows on a Practice' workshop transcription
  • '5 Step Focussed 12' guided meditation
  • Access to John's Facebook page
  • Chant sanskrit now appears at the bottom of the screen during playback

The document navigation is somewhat different from the iOS version due to the differences in the underlying presentation system though the PDF document can be scaled and navigated in a similar fashion (see example above).

Main Differences:

  • The Application can't be rotated
  • The Application can be scaled up to full screen.  This is achieved by dragging the lower right hand corner of the application.  Note that the App doesn't playback full screen.  Remember the idea is to be as a guide and we felt having the App full screen during playback would encourage 'follow along'.
